Barreling
Company introduction
The metalworking company produces chains in the northern Italy.
Company requests
The old chemical-physical wastewater treatment is unable to remove the high content of oil present in the barreling water.
Problem
The barreling step removes the oil from the pieces emulsifying it in the water.
The flow rate is about 20mc per day.
Solution
The preliminary study took some time to establish:
1. how changed the conditions of the wastewater during the day and during the week
2. to define a representative sample of wastewater obtained by mixing all the waters collected during the week
3. to formulate the correct multifunctional flocculant product for the mixed sample.
The wastewater can be taken from the storage tank and sent to the DP4 plant.
The dosage of 2500 ppm of multifunctional flocculant in powder is enough to remove oil and surfactants allowing the discharge into the sewer.
Technical conclusions
The versatility of DP4 allows to treat the wastewater by-passing the traditional chemical-physical plant with a great saving in term of money and energy.
