Chemical-physical treatments
Oil and glycol removal
Company introduction
The company produces the high-end cars in central-northern Italy.
Company requests
The wastewater coming from the test-motor cells is particularly rich in glycol and oil; the combination of these components makes the wastewater not treatable in the own wastewater treatment plant. Disposal at external companies is particularly expensive.
The company asks to treat the wastewater separately with a different technology and then send the resulting water to the own wastewater process.
Problem
The wastewater is collected in an 80mc tank and weekly disposed of.
The daily flow to be treated is approximately 20mc.
The own treatment process cannot treat the oily and glycolated substances.

Solution
The wastewater is taken from the storage tank and sent to the DP4 plant.
The dosage of 500 ppm of multifunctional powder flocculant remove oil and glycol, allowing to sent the treated water to the own treatment plant.

Technical conclusions
The customized formulation of the product and the use of a compact system have solved the problem and reduced disposal costs till 90%; the sludge produced by the treatment process is disposed of.
