Fluoride removal

Company introduction

North-eastern Italy company producing aluminium alloy wheels.

 

Company requests

The company must build new painting lines and consequently have to modify the existing wastewater treatment plants to adapt them to the new requirements. The company asks innovative solutions compared to traditional chemical-physical treatment, especially for the fluorides removal.
 

Problem

The water flow will be 10mc / h with a Fluoride content of about 100 ppm and a surfactants content about 20 ppm.

Solution

Laboratory trials performed with the electrocoagulation cell show a removal of fluorides more than 80% after 15 minutes with a continue decreasing in 1 hour till 6 ppm. The same happens towards the surfactants that are totally removed.

Technical conclusions

The customer can reach a technical and economic advantage adopting a winning and innovative technology.
